I sort of feel like I've blogged out this over and over, but Kinder Eagles is having a Kissing Hand/Back to School Book linky party!  I always read The Kissing Hand on the first day of school.  I think it would be great to read it before the first day but our school has more of an open house style meet and greet, it would be very difficult to read a book!  Anyway, we usually read the book and talk about how we felt before coming to school.  I usually pass out little heart stickers and the kids draw a pictures showing how they felt about going to school that morning.  This year I'm planning on a whole week of Kissing Hand themed activities including a Chester art book, song and poetry page and other math and literacy theme activities.  You can check out my unit and download my free Song and Poetry Journal pages at my Teachers Notebook store!  Then be sure to link up and share your Kissing Hand Ideas! Kinder Fun is having a Facebook Mixer! I've been at this off and on all day!  First I made a facebook accout linked to a different email than I normally use.  That seemed like a lot of trouble.  So I deleted that and made a page linked to my personal account and it seems like that is going to be easier to manage.  At least I hope so!  The next hard part was getting this little sign to link to my page.  I THINK I finally got it to work (although I'm pretty sure that I didn't do it correctly since I added it as a picture with a link and not on the HTML Java thing that I used when I made my button).  I thought I was pretty good with computers but today I really need blogging for dummies.  Is there a sight like that?  Does anybody else have THIS much trouble?  Oh well, I think it's done and now I'm proud of myself! Here are my math station labels.  I have used  a few different variations over the years.  The best tip I ever got was from my friend Casey who taught me to print two copies.  One for the tub of materials and one for the ceiling!  That way the kids always know where the materials go!  I print up an extra copy for the shelf too, that way it's easier for kids to put materials away too! It's a Linky Party! -  Inspired to join in the fun, I started working on my camping themed jobs!  Here’s what I’ve come up with! All of the names don’t have a camping theme, but I figure I will at least pair the job with a camping picture and that should do the trick! Star Camper- We have a whole morning routine to cheer for this student.  Then this person picks a friend (a boy has to pick a girl and a girl has to pick a boy).  These students have three jobs for the day. I find this the best way to fill those jobs that that are gender specific and also the most coveted job of all … paper passer!  1.   Line leaders  2.  Bathroom monitors 3.  Paper passers.
