Image
Pin It So yesterday my lovely little babes came into PM kinder.  One of my little sweetie's handed my a little gift, wrapped in Christmas paper. She was so excited.  She had the biggest smile on her face. Here is a picture of what was inside- It's kind of difficult to see, but this bottle is filled with water!  I guess it's homemade vitamin water! I used the random number generator and the winner of my giveaway is Proud in Primary!  I will be emailing!!!  Thanks for entering!

(Details Below) Pin It Our class has been working hard learning about polar animals.  Last week we learned about polar bears.  We completed our polar bears tree map and then we used our tree maps to write sentences. For the first 3 pages they had to write a can, are, and have sentence.  The kids who finished were asked to write another page of their choice.  This little guy is very smart, very neat, and 100% kindergarten!  These kids crack me up!  Don't forget to enter my giveaway!  I was just giving away my Valentine's Day stuff but after reading some of the comments I'll just change it to any 2 items from my store.  Just leave a comment with your email  here. Thanks for stopping by!!! Jody

Polar Freeze Products Posted!

Pin It Today we started learning about polar bears.  The kids were super excited.  We are using Deanna Jump's unit.  We are working hard to make our polar bear tree map. I did have a few moments when I want to maybe bang my head against the wall trying to get the kids to finish the sentence- Polar bears are _____.  But, they eventually got it.  One great thing about teaching half day kindergarten is that anything that is hard in the morning, you get to fix in the afternoon! I made a few things to help me out while teaching about polar animals and they are all on TPT! Polar Freeze Nonsense Words to help us with blending!  Numbers on Ice for my friends who are having a little trouble identifying numbers!  And of course... Write the Room!

A Little Whining, Polar Animals and a Little Freebie!

Pin It It seems like every time we get a long weekend, I end up getting sick.  I suppose that it's better than waking up sick on a work day (since my emergency sub plans are never really ready) but it still stinks!!! I'm blaming stress!!!  My grade book is sucking the life out of me (I literally worked on it for 3 hours yesterday, that was just the AM, and I didn't even enter any grades)!  My daughter is applying to any college she can that is either way too expensive and/or super far away.  My dogs have hit old age and it's one thing after another...  It never ends.  All I want to do is have things right, all the time.  Is that too much to ask? All right, I'm done whining.  Last week we started our polar animals study.  The kids loved it!  We started with our schema chart (I forgot to take a picture, but trust me it was pretty basic -Polar Animals written at the top, then a space for Our Schema, New Learning, and Misconceptions).  Despite the fact my chart wa

Mitten Pocket Chart Picture & Letter Sound Intervention Correction

Pin It Well, two days in a row!  I am on a roll!  At school today I actually remembered to take a few pictures!  Here is our mitten pocket chart.  It's super easy to make.  You just draw a mitten onto white poster paper.  Cut it out, the cut strips to fit in your pocket chart.  I have completed and posted my new phonemic awareness packs for initial and medial sounds.  We worked on medial sounds today using the smart board and the kids loved it.  The funny noises I made when a picture didn't have the /a/ sound in the middle may have helped a bit. :) Sadly I was notified that my Letter Sound Interventions Pack has an error.  Page 22 has the wrong letters listed.  If you already purchased this product you can download the corrected copy from TpT.  Sorry for any inconvenience!

New Years Resolution and The Mitten & a Freebie

Pin It I'm back!  Well really  I haven't been anywhere.  Most days I feel like I have so much to say, but then I start reading everyone else's blogs and before you know it my computer gets shut down and I'm relaxing on the couch! Kudos to all of you who keep up with regular blogging!  I don't know how you do it!    Anyway...I did make a lot of New Years Resolutions, and one is that I would make a blog post at least once a week...we'll see how I do!  Like many of you, we are reading The Mitten this week.  You probably have a gazillion ideas but if you are anything like me, it's always fun to see what other people are doing! I'm teaching half day and we have a lot to fit in so be warned, we are not doing anything extravagant.  However, I try to make sure that everything we do is important and effective!   Monday -Read The Mitten by Jan Brett, focus on vocabulary, main idea, problem and solution Tuesday -Re-read The Mitten by Jan Brett-retell with
