I just found your blog through Lil' Country Kindergarten. I can't wait to look around a bit.
I'd love it if you'd come over to my blogs as well. I currently have three blogs. I write a home blog (my most widely read blog), a literacy blog, and a kindergarten blog. My literacy and kindergarten blogs are fairly new, so I'd love to get the word out about them. My main website is www.homeiswheremystorybegins.com. From there, you can get to all of my blogs. I'd love any advice you have for breaking into the teaching blog world. I feel like I have a pretty good start with my home blog, but no one seems to be reading my other two. Any suggestions for me would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks for taking the time to help out a new teacher-blogger!

Today's Big Time Blogging Challenge topic is classroom management. This is something that I've been thinking a lot about this summer. For the last several years I've really been struggling with the use of behavior charts. I don't like them. The same kids end up turning their card over and over proving to me that having a child turn his or her card does not change their behavior in the long run (although it sometimes puts them back on track for the day). For some it deflates their self esteem. You can see it in their faces. They feel bad and so do I. So, decision made. I am not using it this year. This is going to be hard because parents seem to love that dang chart. They love seeing the little behavior calendars come home. Also, we use it as our behavior progress reports. I'll have to do something else. It will be more work. I don't like more work :( Do you see the problem here????? Anyway, Last yea...
I can not believe it has been two years since I opened my little TPT Store!!! I am so thankful for all of the support I have found. I started my store thinking that if I could make back the money for what I spent on clip art, then I could buy more clip art to make more stuff for my classroom. When I make stuff for my classroom, I share it. Then I get to buy more clip art! Now, it has turned into a hobby that I truly enjoy. The first big project I made was my behavior calendars. I update them every year and they are still free. They are a great tool for communicating with parents. The first item I made for purchase was my kissing hand unit. It was so difficult because I was just learning how to create products. In the end I love they way it turned out. So, in honor of my two year TPT anniversary I am giving away 3 copies of my Kissing Hand Unit (If you already own it...
