Sometimes I Blog in my Head!

It's true!  I new exactly what I wanted to write on Monday, but then one of my little darlings projectile vomitted on....me!  I was almost able to jump out of the way but my assistant was coming up from behind and when she saw me flying backwards her instinct was to save me from falling and she ended up PUSHING me right into the stream of ...it!  She SAID she didn't see the vomit.  Hmmmmm.  That night I came straight home, showered and had a glass of mommy juice.  I was never able to remove myself from my cozy little recliner.

It's always something! We've been having a lot of fun in my little world though! We've been working on All About Posters!  I love this little guys "All About What Does the Fox Say"!

Last week we studied Penguins using Tara West's Penguins Close Read, she has it as a TPT freebie and it really helped me start to learn about Close Reading.  I did have trouble teaching the vocabulary page.  I'm sure I presented it all wrong, but it was kind of an epic failure.  I didn't give up though.  I came back strong the next day and gave partner's words from the story to draw or write about.  Then they shared their word with the class.  Maybe it was a better day for me, but they came out really well! Here are a few of them.

"marine mammals are like a whale, marine mammals eat penguins"

I'm not sure if all of these penguins are going to make it :(

(these friends told me that they knew penguins weren't blue but they wanted to make them pretty)

One of my little guys took charge of this one.  He had to partners but convinced them that they should only do the coloring ;)
